Raquel & Peter | 16.07.11
The weather couldn't be any better for Raquel and Peter. This wedding was beautiful from beginning to end. The ceremony and reception were both located in the Distillery District. Guests only had to walk a couple of minutes after the ceremony to the reception venue. The beautiful art gallery was transformed into a gorgeous reception venue for Raquel and Peter's closest family and friends.
It was such a pleasure to work with Raquel...such a sweet girl. The pink theme color definitely brought in the bride's personality - oh, and don't forget, the groom had matching pink socks ;)

How sweet!! According to the blog comments, Melissa said YES!
I came across an old post...Melissa's boyfriend had surprised her with a cute and unexpected proposal. The proposal was disguised as a blog post. A series of photos showed how to make a cake pop. Eventually it got to:
"WILL YOU MARRY ME..." "MELISSA?" "YES MEL, THIS IS FOR YOU. NOW TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND TURN AROUND. RICH IS WAITING."
Read the original blog post here! How sweet! :)

It's a Friday afternoon and I'm sitting here thinking...it's Valentine's day this Monday!
A lot of people get engaged over the holidays and of course Valentine's Day. I personally know 3 couples who got engaged on February 14. So, how many men are at this very moment running through their plans to get down on one knee, bring out the ring and pop the question?
I'm assuming many have planned way before this weekend and are now just going through the nervous and fidgety stage. But for those who haven't started to plan yet, here's a start to some inspiration...
Click here for the video you don't want to miss out on.

Pantone announced Color of The Year 2011: Honeysuckle
If you're a pink lover...you'll love the color HONEYSUCKLE! Honeysuckle is a dynamic reddish pink. The executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®, Leatrice Elseman, explains that "In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going...".
Honeysuckle will work well on both men and women. It is an eye-catching hue for both day and night...which means...it'll be an AMAZING wedding theme color!
Wouldn't you love to walk down the aisle with honeysuckle heels under your gorgeous wedding gown?

It's not just a bridal show...it's a wedding event!
Toronto's "The Total Wedding Show" is this weekend. Starting from Jan 21, 2011 - Jan 23, 2011 you'll find what you need for your wedding. January is usually packed with bridal shows on the weekends and it's pretty hard to decide which one to go to. However, if you're in the stage for just inspiration or actually looking for vendors, The Total Wedding Show will give you what you want.
With over 350 wedding retailers and service providers in over 25 categories, how can you not find what you need? I do suggest bringing a wheeled bag though. 8 newest issues of the best bridal magazines are all yours to take home and go through with your fiancé. It's always a good thing to have pictures to show the guys rather than explaining it by drawing with your finger in the air and saying "you know, like this and like that?" and all you get is a *blank stare*.
Oh! and please don't forget to drop by La Fete's booth for OUR own magazine! It's hot off the press, so I'm looking forward to it too! You will also be able to meet our wedding coordinators in person without even making an appointment!
On behalf of all of us from La Fete, we look forward to meeting with you at The Total Wedding Show this weekend at the International Centre.
P.S. Parking is FREE!!!

Did you ever think that your favorite shopping mall could be your ceremony venue?! Last month a couple said their flash mob "I do"s right in the middle of a mall! It was beautiful, it was creative, it was FUN.

Mirabash 2011 | 01.02.11
What a party to start off the year of 2011! Little Mirabelle celebrated her very first birthday with a whole lot of people. Over 100 family and friends gathered at The Argonaut Rowing Club to party and sing her happy birthday.
The evening was filled with various food stations from different cultures and entertainment for every single age group. Wii tournaments, singing contests and the photo booth were the most popular throughout the party. It was fun listening to the adults and kids sing "Puff the Magic Dragon". The kids were occupied with their craft table and their favorite...Pinata! Everyone had a blast!
It was a long day for Mirabelle but the first lick of her birthday cupcake brightened up her eyes and she was ready to party again!

Abigail & Marek | 11.06.10
Just a little over a month ago Abigail and Marek tied the knot at the Toronto United Mennonite Church followed by an intimate reception at Fantasy Farm.
A cue to the accordion player started the ceremony. Three angelic flower girls and a handsome young ring bearer led the way down the aisle. With both mom and dad by her side, Abigail walked with grace towards Marek. After the ceremony that included the coin, cord/lasso and veil tradition everyone arrived at Fantasy Farm for the newlywed's reception.
With great food, ambiance and service, everyone enjoyed the night very much. But that was not it! A surprise for the guests was still waiting in the back room. Caliente Drum & Danz danced their way onto the dance floor with a dazzling salsa, samba and Michael Jackson Tribute dance. At the end of their performance, they walked within the guests in their feathery and glittery costumes and started dancing with the guests, bridal party and the bride and groom :) It was such a nice surprise for the guests!

Roxanne & Danny | 09.03.10
A morning Sikh ceremony, an afternoon butterfly gazebo ceremony, an evening of family and friends and a night full of entertainment and dance.
The day was full of color, rhythm and song. A Dhol musician at the Sikh ceremony started the day and SGPD's stellar dance performance at the reception brought guests up on their feet teaching them a few moves. Then when it was time for the bride's speech, we turned down the lights as we put Roxanne in the spotlight in the middle of the dance floor. A surprise for the groom, the bride sang out her words to him. What an AMAZING voice you have, Roxanne!
Here are some photos from Navy. For more of her photos, visit Navy's blog

It's not a rule that you have to carry a floral bouquet. What if your groom is allergic to flowers? What if the colors you want aren't in season? Be creative and make your wedding photos pop out from the rest by adding a little DIY fun to your bouquet. Throw in some unexpected or handmade decor to go with it!
There are endless possibilities in finding something to replace a floral bouquet. Anything can work! If you're the DIY bride, let those creative juices flow and make a bouquet for all the girls! From crochet to gluing buttons together, come up with something that reflects your personality and means something to you.
And...you can keep your bouquet FOREVER!
A Christmas inspired bouquet by Sandy
Don't forget about your flower girl. She can play with this Paper Hydrangea Pomander the whole night and it'll still look perfect.
Being a chocolate lover, I made myself a Origami Rose Ferrero Rocher Bouquet. DIY bouquets will usually last longer than the traditional floral bouquets. However, I don't think my bouquet would last more than an afternoon ;)

Katie & Jodie | 11.20.10
What an incredible day with the newlyweds, Katie and Jodie!
Last Saturday, a live band, choir, and the perfect blue heels walked Katie down the aisle in the afternoon followed by photos outside the church. When guests arrived at The Waterside Inn, they enjoyed a cocktail reception accompanied with soothing jazz music.
The bridal party was introduced into the reception hall as they rocked their moves to a live band, The Dave Murphy Band. The lighting, cake, flowers...everything was perfect, even the speeches were amazing!
The 3 MCs, brothers of the bride and groom, brought continuous laughter throughout the evening. It was definitely a night filled with laughter, dance and love.
Congratulations, Katie and Jodie! We were so happy to make sure everything went smoothly on your big day.
